Crafting and reciting poetry has been a vital part of everyday life in the Persian-speaking world for well over a millennium. In celebration of Nowruz, a spring equinox festivity marking the traditional Iranian New Year, join us at the Museum for an afternoon of poetry, performance, and connection at the second annual Nowruz Festival of Women Poets.
Be inspired by rich and evocative poetic recitations and music in our auditorium and lobby, indulge in traditional Persian sweets and refreshments, and feast your eyes on glorious Iranian art on special curator-led tours of our galleries.
12, 1, 3 pm: Pop-up performances by Behnoosh Behnamnia.
1–2 pm: Check-in
2–3:30 pm: Live and filmed performances in the auditorium
3:30–5:30 pm: Tours and post-performance festivities throughout the Museum

Enjoy exclusive Iranian-themed curator tours of our Collections Gallery at 3:30 pm and 4:15 pm, with tours conducted in both English and Persian. Tours will be led by Aga Khan Museum Curator Dr. Michael Chagnon and Assistant Curator Bita Pourvash.
Please note that tour capacity is limited and all tours are on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets for tours can be redeemed at 1 pm with proof of event registration ticket.
