Make digital music inspired by the Museum! Instructor Chris Ak takes the lead in this workshop designed especially for youth ages 14–16. Enjoy an introduction to such topics as podcast and soundscape creation. Then, test out our tech while you arrange your own musical masterpieces!
Topics covered during this musical adventure include audio recording and engineering (podcast creation, creating soundscapes, building arranging songs/sounds, and recording music and vocals) as well as audio production (building instrumentals/producing music, basic song structure and theory, rhythm and beats, and the art of sampling).
Chris Ak is an audio/video producer who has been teaching his craft for more than 20 years in the city of Toronto. He says of his practice, “Using my set of skills to produce a product of quality and interest is my goal. We all possess the ability to create, but knowledge and access to creative tools can often be a barrier. Technology has advanced in a way that makes it very accessible for people to create and experiment in the arts. I’m offering my knowledge and experiences as a bridge to help youth reach their creative goals.”
